All too often we seek our help and solace from every source but God. We look to men, to the vain pretense of his limited understanding, we trust his frail might, and his corrupted morality. We lie to ourselves, pretending that man is able and even willing to aid us, to "do the right thing"... the problem is that man does not even know what the right thing is... And that does not even touch his willingness or ability. We are too quick to trust in man, too quick to discount that which we cannot explain or see. The ruin left in the wake of man's best efforts is all too evident in the world around us. It is empty and void - the hope we place in man - and still, we place it there expecting this time to be different. THIS set of elected officials will make it right, THIS guru, THIS law, THIS relationship, THIS self-actualization, THIS resolution, THIS… Beloved, none of these things or million others will ever make your life right, will ever set your world in order. The basic and fundamental issue of life is that we need God and we are by nature in rebellion against Him. But here is the great news in the midst of the chaos; God has promised help to all who seek Him. More than that, He has promised forgiveness for our rebellions, and inclusion for us as His children. The God of all things, the One who made heaven and earth, the creator and sustainer, the ruler of all that He has created, has promised that He will hold us, protect us, and give us all that we need both now and for all eternity. Stop trusting in man and all that he falsely promises and rest safely in the arms of God. He WILL supply all your need!
