Hope is such a powerful thing, and yet, it can be so very fragile when we house it in the wrong thing. Base your hope on nice things, base your hope on money and power, base your hope on people, on culture, on education, on all that is mankind and your hope will be destroyed, your life adrift and your capacity to ever hope again will be ruined... but base your hope on God, base your hope on His Word, base your hope on the sure and certain promises of His glory, base your hope on Jesus Christ, slain for sinners, raised for our justification and returning for our glorification... base your hope on HIM and you can "swing out into eternity on a scarlet thread" !!! This hope is secure because God has given us His own love to remind us of something profoundly, awesomely, wondrously amazing... that when we were still without strength, when we were still rebels and enemies of God, when we still hated Him, Christ died for the wicked, for the ungodly, for those rebels plotting His overthrow... for us. And a God willing to do that can be trusted with our hope, come what may... hope on Christ, beloved, you will NEVER be disappointed!!
