Jim, Tim, MS;Actually, Jesus set the standard for tithing by adding TO, not diminishing FROM: Mt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. |

The best exposition of Scripture I have heard. Pastor Weaver demolishes the current 501c3 churches "explanation" of this verse, and counters their "unlimited submission to government" teaching. |

I got this question wrong, also... The answer to the question:
"How many of Jesus' twelve apostles were jews?"
is in this message. Please DO listen to the first in this series, as it will provide the Scriptural background with which one should be familiar.
I got wrong answer, to the question. (HINT: a Startpage search will NOT help in arriving at the correct answer.) |

Don't stop at one of five... In the latter days, Pastor Weaver will be recognized as the greatest exegete of the 20th and 21st century; quoted more often than Calvin and Spurgeon. He asks several questions in this series; and, by the third in the series I hadn't gotten a correct answer. DO have your Bible at hand, as if you do not; you will not want to believe your ears. You may not even believe your eyes. Harsh truths will do that to a person's pre-suppositions. In the past several months, I have been challenged time and again by having to re-think what I had been previously "taught" by preachers. IF YOU CANNOT BE intellectually honest with yourself, go ye in peace. If you would be Scripturally accurate; please do listen. |
