Great Sermon! Thank you for addressing this taboo subject within the church. You beautifully described the biblical view of authority, abuse and of sin requiring a blood sacrifice. Beautifully done with the gospel always in view. Thank you.
Suck it up and deal? A “man of God” would say to his wife, “Woman, this is what we’re going to do, suck it up and deal!!” Interesting. I’m thankful my man of God husband doesn’t treat me like this. I am pretty sure any Spirit-led husband/“man of God” wouldn’t treat his wife like this or scream it from the pulpit to other men to treat their wives like this. Even if she does get “sideways” or “sassy”, there is not scriptural support for that tone, verbiage or attitude. There are scriptural, Spirit filled ways to guide a “sideways” wife “back into submission.” This is not one of them.
Great Sermon! Thank you for this sermon. I am sharing this with a new Christian who has experienced sad loss. Jeff has a calm soothing voice and a clear, approachable, teaching style. Good application.
I remember having unisex bathrooms in preschool. Even at 3 and 4 years old I remember how uncomfortable I felt about it. At lunchtime the teachers would have all the students get in line to use the restroom. There were no dividers in between each toilet which stood side by side. I would wait until everyone Sat to eat to go but that didn't last long because the teachers caught on to what I was doing and I began to get in trouble because of it. I still remember one little boy who would always stare at me while using the restroom and I told but no one would do anything about it. This was the same boy who I would run from because he would always try to kiss me and of course I would be the one who got punished for running. I see this being a problem especially for the girls. This law is not going to stop bullying and it certainly is not going to protect our youth. The only thing I see coming out of it is a whole new set of problems that are going to lead to more than bullying.
Very Weighty... This is a very weighty sermon for anyone in authority.(parents, teachers, elders, etc.) This was excellent teaching and very convicting.
Wonderful Series Biblically supported, God-honoring sermon series! I pray other women will listen and realize what has been lost but, more importantly, what we can do in the fight against the powers and principalities of the spiritual realms; the honor it returns to God; and the personal humility and love we can show to those men in authority over us.
Anon...how do you know Mary the Lords mother was 12-15 years,we are not told her age so she could have been over 16 years so please don,t add to the bible what is not there.
