And nakedness, biblically and spiritually, is to not being clothed in the righteousness of God just as the first Jerusalem is spiritually Sodom and Egypt. So what's your point?
Relativism reigns supreme in your house Lurker. Have your interpretation of scripture, I take scripture word for word.

Hello sister Angela.
I see you're catching a little flack..... again.
I'm from Iowa which has produced and sent several gymnasts to the Olympics. As an Iowan, I'm very proud of their accomplishments. My wife and I have followed them intently over the years.
For those who believe they must abstain from watching a gymnast perform, I respect their personal conviction. But I often wonder why the same respect isn't reciprocal or why I may be accused of having a seared conscience, etc, etc. Every Christian's personal convictions are formed by their personal interpretation of God's word and as we all know, it's rare to find two Christians who agree on all things. I will not be judged by another's interpretation but by God and His word.
For any who may be tempted to take my view to task, don't even think about it. It's not up for debate.
Yet again, eh Lurker? Interpreting scripture? Modesty is modesty, holiness is holiness. Nice bit of compromise ol boy!

Putting one's trust entirely in Jesus alone for salvation is what the Bible teaches on how salvation is received, which is what I and my Baptist Pastor and every member of my Baptist Church is doing. When everybody stands before Jesus after passing away then He will only look at who had trusted in Him alone for salvation.
So your salvation depends on you trusting in Jesus Christ then? Wrong answer dude. Your trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation is a by-product of the Holy Spirit filling you with life, giving you the power to repent and trust in Christ Jesus. God will look upon those who stand before Him in judgment and separate off those whom Christ saved and those whom Christ didn't save. Period.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Timothy 2:9-10 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1 Peter 3:3-4 Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel.
In 1 Timothy 2:9, Paul uses the word kosmios to describe how a woman should present herself, which is translated as “modest” or “respectable.” Kosmios is related to the word cosmos and connotes orderliness and propriety. Paul also uses the same word in 1 Timothy 3:2, which outlines the qualities men need to have to be overseers, and there it is translated as “respectable”. Modesty is the offspring of humility. Humility is evaluating ourselves properly, with sober judgment (Romans 12:3). Modesty is behavior that flows out of remembering our true place of service, and does not conceitedly boast about the self, but boasts in God (Philippians 2:3–4; 2 Corinthians 10:17). Modesty, or the lack thereof, reveals where we’ve placed our identity. These gymnasts definitely lack modesty and humility.

Look up the website for my Baptist Church at rolchastings.org so you can find out that my Baptist Church does not teach a works based salvation but teaches the biblical Gospel of salvation. If you think that I am a false convert then you are stating that my Baptist Pastor, all the Elders and Deacons, every member of my Baptist Church and every other Baptist is a false convert.
John, it does not matter what a website says, or a pastor, elder, deacon or the groundskeeper for that matter. You continually speak about how YOU accepted Jesus into your heart. You speak the identical things on that other forum I have visited. You are either a parrot, a robot, a fake or just plain dumb. Answer this question John, please.

When you die, and stand before God in judgment, and He asks you why He should allow you entrance into heaven, what will be your answer?

Watcher, I'm not following your rabbit trail. You're just angry because I pointed out how sinful it is for you and others to blame the victims of sexual abuse. I don't care if those girls were tumbling in bikinis - the sin is in the hearts of those who lust after young girls and those who deceive and sexually abuse them.
So they can dress in any manner they want and they are free from any accountability?! Honestly Angela, forgive me for being blunt but you are messed up, deceived and contrary to scripture. BTW...two things: Where's the scripture to back up your position and I haven't watched any sort of TV in almost 17 years now. I didn't care for it then and I could care less about it now. I don't desire to watch anything unpleasing and the fact you see nothing wrong with this is an eye-opener for sure.

Just look it up John. (Almost) Every dictator has used God and the Bible to justify his actions. Hence Zechariah's problem. The Bible says man receives salvation not of works but by the Holy Spirit. You keep mentioning how you saved yourself. See the difference?

My husband and I have always enjoyed watching the gymnasts during the Olympic Games and never once has he acted as though the young ladies were enticing in the least! Also, the comments posted here regarding the girl's attire (or lack of) implies they are somehow responsible for the sexual abuse they endured and this...
Angela, just because you and your husband watch this doesn't make it right. As if your husband would tell you in the first place. Your logic is baffling to me sometimes! Perhaps you need a heart check and realize that your soul has become seared to the Holy Spirit and your conscience has been muted. Would you wear their outfits? Go ahead, put it on and go to church. Wouldn't you feel embarrassed? You can't tell me there's a difference. These women are flaunting their wares for the world to see and you see nothing wrong with that. Also, I never once indicated that they deserved what they got, quite the opposite. BUT...there are consequences for our sins. If a women was to strut through the streets of Chicago or some other nasty city, high in crime, in the nude, it wouldn't be long before she was attacked. Would she be at fault in some way?

I found some DNA at McOpposums once, but I had a napkin, so I cleaned 'er up. The manager thar (forgot his name now), was so impressed he wanted to hire me on right then and thar, but I said no, because IHOP wouldn't let me. Wait a minute...I own IHOP! Tim, Every member of my Baptist Church had to take a 10 week membership preparation class in which they had to demonstrate that they were truly saved, then they had to go before the congregation and be voted in to membership by the Elders and members.
Even Satan believes Jesus is Lord and trembles at the thought. What's your point?

Anyone who is saved is "biblically saved," but anyone who believes every member of a given Baptist church is saved lacks discernment, honesty, or both. I have seen far too many "saved" church members truly get saved to buy into what John is saying.
