Bro Frank, I hope I will not be guilty of commencing yet another debate on the use of alcohol. So here is my only point on the subject, where I compared alcohol and hashish.
If you do a scientific test, which can determine reaction times, all you need to do is increase either the alcohol or pot, and keep checking the response effect. A graph will form, which will show a steady decrease in response times.
It makes sense then for people who are driving buses, flying planes, riding a motorcycle, doing some brain surgery, etc. etc., not to smoke pot or drink port just before engaging in these activities.
It would appear that all of us are on the same page. There is a time and place for us to consume alcohol if we deem it is not sinful. But like a lot of things in scripture; a time and place is a consideration. John the old posters aren't around for this, so it won't go like it used to go. But you were not trying to start something.

Thanks QC and HerbalMama for your thoughts that I also agree with.

Most societies understand the damage it can cause. I was once in Jamaica & remember seeing signs at a construction site stating, "No ganja smoking on the job."
There is a segment of this world that does not believe in enforcing drug laws as they relate to cannabis. I am not part of that segment. The untold damage from the use of this substance has destroyed too many lives. There are arguments for justice reform, increased taxation, and more jobs thru cannabis farming/processing/wholesale/retail markets. Not worth it. More destroyed people on the government dole isn't going to offset any potential gains...and destroying people is never worth it.
Your comment was outstanding, thanks. I think that you and JohnUK are probably right on.

But, for the record I have nothing against drinking alcohol in moderation. This issue is divisive and many times it was argued on the forum with no one changing their minds. So, I only mention it because alcohol is oftentimes connected to marijuana use like brother John did below. I fully agree with his thoughts on drinking to excess and I would never encourage someone to start drinking because it could in fact lead to that.

Sure it will take away fear, but "skills not lessened"? Nonsense.
Thanks Frank for your sharing some of your experiences, I always find them interesting.
Thanks brother Like I said, I have no experience with it, but your understanding is probably right on. I know people will kill and go to jail for it, so it has to be pretty potent. And can you imagine how many places here that have made it recreational.

I don't know about Europe? I do know that Amsterdam is okay, but don't know about other places.

Scripture says that all nations including ours will worship the antichrist. Communism/Socialism are the easiest forms of government for manipulating their populations since the sole power is the government.

Revelation 13:8 “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

I believe what we are seeing in other places will indeed happen here. Do I want that – no. Will I do whatever I can to stop it – yes.

But, all nations means all nations.

It prevents one from being sober minded and should be shunned for what it is. However, smoking it is a victimless crime and jail time should not be faced for being in possession of it. When a crime is commited(such as mentioned in the article) then charge the perp for that.
Thanks for your post! I have no experience with marijuana. I have read where it is a gateway drug that leads to stronger things. Here is a cute story. When I was in VN, I was not a combat soldier. But I remember talking to them and because marijuana was very easy to get in VN, that subject came up. One fellow said that when he had to be the point man, he smoked it because it took away his fear, but his skills were not lessened.

I had a top secret clearance and had I got caught smoking it, I would have been in the field with them.

I tend to agree with most of your comment, but many feel like the above soldier. God wants us to turn to Him, not some drug. And we should always have clear minds. Many problems come up in this life and we should recognize them and marijuana users do not.

Tim, you've got it exactly backward about the translation of the NKJV and KJV, brother!
NKJV: "nor homosexuals nor sodomites"(1 Cor 6:9),
KJV: "nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind" (1 Cor 6:9).
NKJV: "for sodomites" (1 Tim 1:10).
KJV: "for them that defile themselves with mankind" (1 Tim 1:10).
Unless you have posted under a different moniker you haven't posted in almost 4 years. I have feeling your comments would benefit all of us.

Oh, I study using the NASB,but have nothing against the KJV, so I post using that. Many of the posters here are so KJ that they won't even read a different version.

I don’t live in a crime ridden neighborhood. But, if this should come to my door I will call the police and if they don’t arrive in time, I will put my 38 and my wife’s 380 to good use. If the criminal dies in the course of me protecting my wife and I, it will be their fault and not mine.

If a pastor decides it would be sinful to not open his church and his congregation believes it would be sinful to not attend services; the church should defy the authorities and open up.

Acts 5:29 “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”

There is never a situation that can exist that would give credence to disobeying God.

Obey God and He will give us strength and grace to overcome any penalties we get.

I didn’t read the article.

Well I’m sure he is under a 501C3 and if he wants to keep that status he will not go too far in his criticism. I don’t believe any church or Christian charitable organization should be under this man-made restriction. Below is from the internet.

Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.

So Jim, what happens after the 2 months? Nevermind, let me guess. 60 more days to slow the spread? CDC doesn't know what its talking about. But then it's a political organization disguised as medical.
How to react to this virus has become political and not scientific. The democrats are using it solely to defeat Trump. They could care less about any of us. IOW, they are solely ideologues. I have never really respected those in and level of government, but I am now amazed as to how carnal they really are.

"When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother’s life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother’s illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary."

“ Great Sermon! ”
What a wonderful message on the necessity of the incarnation and the necessity of the resurrection. This gifted pastor made those things so clear and easy to understand. Anyone who wants to understand these mysteries better should listen to this sermon.

Anyone who has or performs an abortion is a murderer. Those that support abortions by their votes or rhetoric are accessories to murder.

Those that support some abortion are still as guilty as those that support all abortions. IOW, both classes are still murderers, but one is worse than the other. It would be like a serial killer murdering and torturing 10 people while another serial killer only murders 5 and doesn’t torture any.

Well, at least they aren’t saying God wants you to vote for Biden or Trump. Or they aren’t asking; “who would Jesus vote for?” And saying God wants you to wear a mask in pretty silly also.

Well just wait until we have Kamala Harris as our president. Trillions going to the green new deal; trillions going to universal healthcare and full benefits to anyone who can sneak across our borders. And then add trillions as reparations. The sluggards won’t have to work. We will have to provide for their livelihoods. And my guess is our taxes that will go to Planned Parenthood will certainly be increased from the current 500 million plus.

So, if the democrats win the election and I am now leaning towards they will because of the VP pick, we are finished. The only agenda the democrats have is setting up a socialist country and their goal is not Biden for president, but Harris for president.

I was thinking of not voting this year, but I will vote for Trump regardless because of the democratic ticket.

We will be just like China if Biden wins.

Well if the Lord uses heretics for His purposes, then that is the Lord's business. I would never do it intentionally. But I am pretty sure that your definition of what a heretic is, is different than mine.

Little difference imho Babylon aka RCC ecumenism is the real threat
Thanks brother. I normally check out whoever is writing something, but in this case I didn't. If he is a RC, then I will erase him from a file I have and never quote him again.

We agree on that.

If his name is Christian Smith then he is RC. Thanks he is now gone.

I just erased the MTD from my records. I have quoted that article several times on the forum and I want to apologize to all my brothers and sisters for being so careless.

No Jim, he flip flopped:

Ponder what Mike said below:

Former Doctor Fauci makes it up as he goes along. His continuing additions and subtractions make it obvious except to the willingly blind. Think about his timing on this one, just as schools are to open. Mixing politics with medicine is his expertise

Most teachers do not want schools to open until the election is over. Staying closed before the election gives the Teachers Union and Education lobbies more strength with the parents. And of course, it is more difficult for most blue collar parents to work if they have to stay home with their children.
Just a note: I only think wives should stay home and home school. I look at this way, if a wife can earn 200,000 and the husband can earn 50,000, the wife should still be the one to stay home.

If there are exceptions to this, then I simply don't make the exception the rule.

Do you agree?
