To all you Evangelical Protestants on here who have a problem with celebrating the Birth Of Christ. You guys are in dire need of psychological evaluation for being against celebrating the Birth Of Christ. There is nothing unscriptural about celebrating the Birth Of Christ because the Wisemen(There were certainly more then 3) came and payed homage to Christ at His Birth.

Jer.10
[1] Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
[2] Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
[3] For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
[4] They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
[5] They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
[6] Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might
[7] Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee."

A lot of Christians have been caught up in this Roman Catholic traditional pagan festival with all it's trappings.

Jeremiah 10:3-4  For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Too true! Mind you, the 'some flower people' you mentioned are called "hypermen". Miserable people one and all, as they can't love anyone at all, not even the elect, because they can't tell who the elect are.

Oh btw the word is predestinate, Mike.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 8:29 KJV

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans 8:30 KJV

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Ephesians 1:5 KJV

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Ephesians 1:11 KJV

Seeing as he says that we are "the light of the world", should not these 'miffed' Christians find something good to do while they have the opportunity, rather than take their ease while the world goes into eternity without even hearing the gospel?

NO

It NEVER fails to amaze me that at the "time of good cheer" supposed churches who claim to celebrate the birth of Christ, in actual fact have LESS time spent in meeting than even on an ordinary Sunday!

Plus, any poor lost sinner who is trying to find a church to attend, and who OUGHT to be hearing the GOSPEL preached, is confronted, if he should be fortunate enough to find a church open on the 25th, with a bunch of sozzle-eyed traditionalists whose only thought is to get home as quick as possible, so that the big roast can be set in order, and the party hats brought out.....let the fun begin, and let's have a good larf. (Poor lost sinners will have to wait till next week, we don't want them bothering us at "THIS time of year".

And folks wonder why some evangelicals go toddling off to the Kingdom Hall to see if they can find some GENUINE BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY!!!

But not all church is apostatising.

How did Nimrod get himself born on December 25th without the Roman calendar?
Good Question - Supposedly his birthday was celebrated on the last day of the winter solstice celebration of the "sun god" which apparently is on Dec 25th.

Nimrod must needs be born again, or he will neither see nor enter the kingdom of heaven. And he can neither "get himself born" nor "get himself born again". Let alone on a particular day.

A blessed 2010 to you, Mike.

The RCUS(Reformed Church of the United States) considers itself a 'Guardian of Orthodoxy' for Christianity in their Synod and they have these Trees in their Churches. Not out in the hallway like one might expect, rather next to the pulpit for sermons this time of year.

And while doing so still show no shame in considering other Christians idolators for candles and crosses. I think thats a danger of confessionalism. In this case since Ursinus and Olevianus didnt give them instructions, they cant figure it out despite the testimony of Scripture.

I would encourage all Christians to take a good hard look at this and pray for wisdom. Start by reading Jer 10:1-5 (make sure to read it in the KJV) I have done the research and yes, he is talking about the custom of Christmas trees, or as you will discover, "Nimrod Tree" is a more appropriate description. Nimrod was the grandson of Noah who led a mass apostasy against God. He was the source of almost every false god (Baal)and Pagan tradition, including most Christmas customs and traditions. Dec. 25th was his birthday, not Christs. Christmas is a pagan celebration of Baal that was absorbed into the Roman Catholic Church. Scripture does not tell us to celebrate Christs birthday, if this was important, wouldn't he tell us when his birthday was? Rather, Jesus says in Matt 15:3 "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" Also in Matt 15 : 8-9 he says “ This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.â€
