TS, I didn't know you were a Protestant Presbyterian.

Which country?

I doubt your first statement is correct, especially as King James already had the Bishop's Bible, along with plenty of other English Versions, to separate the kingship from the papacy.
Regarding "accuracy problems", I will be willing to have a look at all that you can come up with. But let's not be vague about it; put up your first "problem", along with how you arived at that "problem", that is, what makes you think that it is a problem. Was it your own research done from a skilful linguistic ability, or was it the word of so-called scholars, or did you read it in "One hundred mistakes in the King James Bible" written by secularists?

For any who have imbibed all the Dr James White arguments, but wish to see why other Reformed brethren disagree with him (but who are not Ruckmanites), why not view the above recently preached sermon video by a speaker from the Trinitarian Bible Society and then watch the other 4 videos

It is best to understand why brethren hold to the AV and then there is no cause for any to continually offer up an army of straw men. The above videos might even prove convincing to those who have no idea that there is a Reformed Trinitarian Bible Society with all connected holding to the doctrines of grace! View the videos first and THEN please comment, the one above is a very good start

Thank you dear brethren!

I can't stop, as there is so much to do, but I thought I'd encourage one and all to believe that we have THE BIBLE in English.

As they say at the ]]Dean Burgon Society
"We believe that the Texts which are the closest to the original autographs of the Bible are the Traditional Masoretic Hebrew Text for the Old Testament, and the traditional Greek Text for the New Testament underlying the King James Version (as found in "The Greek Text Underlying The English Authorized Version of 1611").

We believe that the King James Version (or Authorized Version) of the English Bible is a true, faithful, and accurate translation of these two providentially preserved Texts, which in our time has no equal among all of the other English Translations. The translators did such a fine job in their translation task that we can without apology hold up the Authorized Version of 1611 and say "This is the WORD OF GOD!" while at the same time realizing that, in some verses, we must go back to the underlying original language Texts for complete clarity, and also compare Scripture with Scripture."

No, I did not know that. Have had limited access lately as I'm not home. I will miss his wit and dedication.

John, if you're still reading these, you will be in my prayers, bro, feeble though they may be.

Thanks, ancient mariner, for letting me know.

All God's blessings upon your ministry.
Tell us how you get on.

14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

I believe that the Authorized (King James) Version of 1611 is the most accurate translation we have today of God's holy, inspired and inerrant word, which can be relied upon in every way.

Here is the commission Jesus gave:

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mark 16:15-16 KJV

KJV "ye" - plural - why?

Who is the "temple"

"1 Corinthians 3.16-17
AV Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

RSV Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If any one destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are.

ESV Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are
that temple.
(footnote: “The Greek for you is plural in verses 16 and 17”)

Again, the footnote helps if the reader takes note of it, but many people still think that the temple referred to in these verses by Paul (and in 1 Cor 6.19-20) is the individual believer and not the body of Christ.

In this individualistic “Me” generation (the secular man is often heard to say “My body is a temple, therefore I exercise”), this is an important point to notice which the AV clearly states." (TBS)

KJV (AV) proves to be the most accurate vehicle of the Greek (and Hebrew) yet again.

Alan H wrote:
The Authorized Version is the best fruit of the Reformation. But some have no taste for it!
Alan, I do believe, after observing the direction christendom is going in the UK, that the Protestant Reformation and its fruits are slowly being eroded away, largely as a result of the subterfuginal tactics of Rome. Poor papa took a big beating back then, from which he has never quite recovered. But.....they have never given up!

From where do we have our doctrine? The Bible!

Attack the Bible, and you attack the doctrine.

What does the ecumenical movement want to achieve? Unity of churches? Of course not! Their aim is to bring all of christendom to Mother Church. And the modern versions are surreptitiously and quietly removing those passages from which we have our Protestant heritage. The process was begun in 1881 by the treacherous Westcott and Hort who mentored men like Bruce Metzger and Kurt Aland.

No wonder some folks want the KJV to become extinct, because then we will not be able to COMPARE the latest, greatest (pseudo-) version to hit the shop shelves, with the real thing. If the real thing disappears, counterfeits will abound and deceive the people.

But the KJV will NOT go away!
