It amazes me how many professing Christians have never read the Bible, especially in countries where they are readily and cheaply available. How can we know how to live as Christians if we don't? Also, how can we discern false teaching if we don't know what the truth is by having read it ourselves? "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" 2 Timothy 3:15-17

Hi Lisa
(From just last nights study)
(Our G-d knows exactly what hes doing, in him i trust absolutely, just wish he would share it with me sometimes!)
But God does

He just showed us both, wow, All Glory to God

You may not see Jesus that much in the OT, but you do see Him in your life

Yet I have left me SEVEN THOUSAND in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him
Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work
I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away
Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

Not to twist scripture, you also have eyes to see

Carefull what you wish for

1 Kings 19 (From just last nights study)
14And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

15And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

16And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

17And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

18Yet I have left me SEVEN THOUSAND in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
(Our G-d knows exactly what hes doing, in him i trust absolutely, just wish he would share it with me sometimes!!!!)
PS How do you get the little facy men thingys into the post?

Hi Lisa
Wow, never had that kind of reaction from any of my comments, Praise God
Thanks
Theophany is when the pre-incarnate Christ turns up (say in an angelic form, this is opposed to seeing Christ in Elijah
I really didn't know, not much on "THE GREEK and THE HEBREW" either.
I like what you say also
Just get frustrated at people who turn a deeply rewarding relationship into a theology lesson (the more you know the more daft it comes over)
Pretty cool.
You also say
The only reason im wearing trousers, is that (especially if you could see me at present, im in bright pink pyjamas!), i do make sure that they look very feminine, and never like those of a male
I also like that, you married
You say
No-really im begging anyone who has heard the call to mission consider Wales-please pray about this

Yes-o yes I am very thirsty, and im being quenched slightly but im waiting for more (i know there is more).
I seem to have been stopped from frenetic activity and im in a position of praise (was this what Elijah was doing?)...The attack is almost overwhelming (distraction of supernatural levels), but im waiting... Theophany is when the pre-incarnate Christ turns up (say in an angelic form, this is opposed to seeing Christ in Elijah).

Hi Lisa
Still have not looked up "theophany"
But to answer your question

lets use a verse you used
felt G0d wanted me by the brook of cherith for a while
is that from
1 Kings 17:2-4 (King James Version)

2And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
(See Jesus, "And the word"
John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

3Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
(Jesus said He is the living water and hide thyself in Him, that is,
you will never thirst again
(before Jordon = more water)

4And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
(See Jesus, And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook
Lisa you thirst, you get living water)

and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there
FEED MY SHEEP, PASTOR

I guess im very focussed on Elijah-have been studying him for months (im reading AW Pinks study of the life of Elijah) I decided on reflection that i was working too muchin the flesh and felt G0d wanted me by the brook of cherith for a while. He has refreshed me but im kind of waiting for an enduement of power from on high-im pretty empty at present and i think i need his power to revive me before i go out to face my widow!Tell me-do you see Jesus as theophany or in a character-im intrigued

Cool, thanks, pretty deep info

You ask
Tell me-do you see Jesus as theophany or in a character-im intrigued
I will reread some parts and get back to you, but this much I can tell you.
I see Jesus not always as God,(that He is) but as Jesus, you know

I see Jesus from
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden

To
Revelation 22
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

I should mention that I also have the mp3 version of scourby which is OT/NT on one cd, and it is very very low quality, much lower quality then the tapes, and actually so bad that I can't use it. They tried to compress it way too much to get it all on that one disk.

It is that bad, so I just went back to the tapes after a week or so of trying when I got the Scourby mp3 disc a few years ago. I don't recommend that mp3 disk at all, only his tapes, or full regular audio cd set.

Since the Trinitarian Bible Society one is on 2 mp3 disks, this implies that it was compressed at a higher quality, so if you want mp3 I would say choose that one instead though I have not heard it but I may get it as it is a good price.

For anyone who is interested, the Trinitarian Bible Society now offers an edition of the complete KJV on 2 CDs in MP3 format. You can find it on the TBS website (http://www.trinitarianbiblesociety.org/) by clicking "Online Sales", then "Other". It's narrated by Eric Martin with no music or dramatiztion at all. It's really good. In the U.S. you can order it directly from the TBS office in Grand Rapids.

Does any Scourby audio edition include the OT? Mine doesn't. 2 Tim. 3:16.

The Alexander Scourby audio readings of the Bible are very good if you own those.

Here at SermonAudio.com, the Audio Bible recording by Vernon Lapps are available for free. Some of them are slightly dramatized but they are highly usable. I agree with taking your time with a particular book of the Bible and listening to that for a while. Repeat chapters as you like and need and let them absorb in. Recently, I've been enjoying Luke, Proverbs, and Psalms (in that order).

For the Bible reading, I prefer listening to the tapes unless I am studying something specifically, I can go through much more in one sitting with tapes and I recommend it to everyone to get a set. Or now you can get sets on cds or mp3 or whatever.

I have the scourby non musical/non dramatized set. I listened to the ones with music and the ones that were dramatized and they irritated me to the point I had to turn them off, so don't waste your money on that stuff.

Basically the scourby recordings go through the whole bible in probably 75 hours, but what I do is listen to one of the 48 tapes over again for about 2 weeks at a time to get every single detail, then go on to the next tape. This way takes longer but seems better to me for memory and details.

About the EU coins, there are many many different euro coins not just one. The one some are talking about is the image on one side of the many Greek made coins which depicts:

"The abduction of Europa
by Zeus in the form of a bull"

There are many stories in the world with women riding animals, so don't read things into things like this when the artist is obviously depicting something totally different from Greek mythology.

***There are NO 7 heads and 10 Horns depicted on the bull in this EU coin ok.***

"Each country participating in the euro has its own design on the national side of the coin."

There are also Euro Banknotes too. If you find an image of a woman on a beast which has 7 heads and 10 horns call me up I am interested to know too.

I agree with you David, I believe that the Holy Spirit has a fresh message to every christian every single day of the year. We have a unique God and He will not be emptied of what he wants to tell us. Of course everything is in the bible. But the HS will deal with us as we experience his blessings.
