and here I thought Jesus said, you will have tribulation.

Scofield seems to think he knows better than Jesus what Jesus said.

The rapture is not about escaping persecution; it is about escaping THE tribulation. Christ comes for His bride before this. This is because it isn't about you; it's about Christ.

Yeah; that's why people should not read the bible. The word Bible is not even in the Bible, so it must not be real.

Amen, "St Jeremiah". The Authorized Holy Bible-Scripture(s) DEFINITELY Teach A Pre-Millenial/Pre-Tribulation Rapture of The True "Holy Bible Only" Catholic (Note: NOT Satanic "Roman 'Catholic' ") & Universal Church of The Lord Jesus Christ.

This, ofcourse, is Evidenced by The Historic Writings of The Apostles (Sans Judas) of The LORD Jesus Christ; Both The New Testament CANONAL & Non-Canonal Writings of said "Apostles"; Which INCLUDE, but aren't limited to, The Writings of The Converts, Students & Disciples of The "Apostles" of Christ like: Polycarp, Clement, Iraneus, Ignatius, Tertullian & The Rest of The Biblical-Literalist Interpreters of The Authorized Holy Bible-Scripture(s) in The 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Centuries:

One of Whom, in Particular, was named Ephrem of Syria.

The "day of redemtion" (Ephesians 4:30) was one of the seven mysteries revealed to Paul by the ascended Jesus (Galatians 1:12). The "harpazo" (1 Thess. 4:13-18), "allasso" (1 Corinthians 15:51), "episunagoge" (2 Thessalonians 2:2) and "apostasia" (depature- Latin Vulgate- 425, Geneva Bible- 1587, Tyndale-1526, Mile Coverdale 1535)is new testament truth not found in the old testament, since it was hidden (Colossians 1:25-26). This appearing/coming of Jesus is only for His bride, the Church. He does not touch the earth. All saints are either resurrected or translated. His second coming...attested to by many O.T. prophecies is to rescue Israel from destruction by the Gentiles (Zechariah 14:1-5). The "rapture" is only the conclusion of this "day of redemption"...then the man of sin will be revealed who will be destroyed at Jesus' coming seven years later (Daniel 9:27). We, the Church, are to look for our Lord....not for the man of sin (2 Thess. 2:1-11).

In Matt 27:50-53 states, "And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth shook; and the rocks were split, and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many.

I have never heard any pastor expound on these verses; but, are they not powerful?

Other cultures report One having appeared to them, and this has been passed down even to today. Could it be that native Americans, and pacific islanders, to mention a couple of cultures who make such claims actually were witnessed to at that time. Are these the "firstfruits" that Jesus mentions?

I've always wondered, but never had the opportunity to ask.

God never judges the righteous with the wicked. The Bible is full of parallels. Enoch was Raptured before the flood (Gen. 5:24). Noah was like Israel going thru the Tribulation. Lot was also a type, being "raptured" before judgement on Sodom and Gommorah. Jesus is coming to rapture His bride pre-trib. 1/2 the rest of the church will be saved (10 Virgins, only 5 got saved) during the trib. But main focus of God in trib is the Father's wife, Israel (the Jews), so that they can be saved.

Right ... Casob?
I don't think he wants to answer that one DJC49. He is too busy promoting his two gospels under the covenants thread.

Anyway, JD did mention sometimes back that the OT saints like John the Baptist were never a part of the kingdom of heaven and wouldn't be resurrected at the same time as the NT church. So how can Moses and Elijah be the two witnesses if they were never raptured out yet. How many raptures are there under the dispy scheme? My head spins.

Casob wrote:
Let me give you the scenario here. The Church is raptured and not a single saved person is on the earth at that time. If they had been saved they would have been raptured. Afterwards God sends 2 witnesses, ELIJAH AND MOSES to the earth who minister during the first 3 1/2 of the 7 years. They are later slain by the man of sin and God resurrects them and they ascend to heaven after 3 days of laying in the streets of Jerusalem.
ELIJAH & MOSES are the two witnesses? Where do you get that from, Casob?

Now I know absolutely that you are a strict literalist when it comes to interpreting the Bible. A Dispensational literalist at that. So where in the context does it affirm that the two witnesses of Revelation 11 are ELIJAH & MOSES? Or is this some sort of Dispy concoction?

And doesn't this mean (if the two witnesses are indeed ELIJAH & MOSES) that they will have to then DIE TWICE?

Now read:
Hbr 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, but after this the judgment:"

And as far as Elijah goes:
1Cor 15:22 "For as in Adam ALL die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." and

John 3:13 "And NO man hath ascended up to heaven,..."

Just a thought - Under premil theology there will be one world government before the end. It will be lead by the Lord Jesus Christ and will govern raptured souls and evil sinners together. Very strange.

This thread is supposed to be about the so-called rapture; not about the US Constitution, Thomas Jefferson, JFK, and the like. Can we follow the direction of the Moderator and get back on track.

It's hard to take seriously the economic thinking of a spendthrift, which Jefferson was. I shouldn't wonder that such a man should detest bankers & other creditors. He died bankrupt.

I haven't seen historical evidence that Exec. Order 11110 was actually aimed at the Fed. It wasn't nullified till Reagan.

That was tolerated by the electorate, who bear ultimate responsibility (in our system) for any misgovernance. To pin the blame on secret cabals alone is to absolve the body politic.
