Life is a precious gift from our Creator, a gift to be treasured and lived to its fullest. Our lives are full of changes, complex highs, lows, and endless needs to adjust and grow. Some days are full of rich blessings while others, the darkness seemingly insurmountable. No matter your current season, God wants you to live your life productively, purposefully, and for His glory. Not only does He desire your daily success, but in His tender care and grace He has richly provided for you every tool necessary to live life by His design. Over the last several weeks, our church has been studying one of the foremost scriptures that expound these essentials to daily success. The scripture is Ephesians 6:10-18:
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints…”
My personal reflections on this passage have been thought provoking and extremely helpful to my own walk with Christ. Over the next several weeks, I plan to take the contents of those studies and expand them a bit in written form. I hope that the details written will offer insights that will be fresh and practical. May Christ strengthen us in our daily walks as together we meditate on His word and purpose to live in the light of these truths. If you are interested in listening to any of the sermons connected to this study, you can find them on our Sermon Audio page.
