We are not to think that the Apostle's ministry is one and the same with God's intended ministry for every believer; however there are many points of overlap. We are all called to be witnesses and bear witness of Jesus Christ by virtue of our identity (adopted reconciled sons of God joined to Him by union with Christ through the indwellig Spirit) and the commissioning God intended to be upon all believers. We are not to buld another foundation, but we are to buid on the one already laid. Jesus entrusted the revelation of Himself to Paul who entrusted it to Timothy who Paul charged to entrust it to other faithful men clearly for the perpetuation of the prclamation of the Gospel.
