Ryan Speck 1 comment “ Thank you for addressing this ” As a family recently victimized by sexual assault, this verse has become a bit of a stumbling block. Not because of the Bible’s words on it (I have developed a much fuller understanding of this verse through Matthew 19), but because of how little it is addressed. You were on of the only sermons to pop up on the subject. Most commentators simply excuse it as, “well, it’s better treatment than other nations would’ve given.” But that doesn’t seem to address the morality of the situation.
