Timely Teaching! What a teaching for our times!!!
I appreciate your not echoing the same common interpretations and exegesis of Rev 11 concerning the Two Witnesses. To be fair, I am guilty of overlooking the obvious and plain interpretation of the two olive trees/lampstands as the others; but the Word of God clearly states that it they represent, well, "The Word of God"!
Once you established that then everything else falls into place. But more importantly we get what the Apostle John wanted us to get, that there will always be opposition to God's Word until the return of our Lord. The Word, when faithfully preached with the spiritual authority given to it by God will always conquer and prevail over His enemies; but once the Word becomes compromised and diluted by those who profess and teach (and more over live the Word) then the witness of the Word (the church/city of God) can be overcome by her enemies (the beast/state and its partner the compromising adulterous church).
But praise be to God that the slain witnesses are revived by God in 3 1/2 days (before irrevocable decay can sit in) and the church stands again on her feet and fan a fresh spiritual fire that will devour her enemies.
Be blessed and keep proclaiming the Gospel.
to God be the glory
