Great reminder. Yes, power and efficacy are not foubd in the wisdom of man, but in the power of the Holy Spirit applying God's Word. Good reminder of that!
Great Sermon! There is much wisdom and godly counsel here for Christians of all backgrounds and traditions, presented in a humble and gracious way. We dare not treat even good and cherished traditions as equal to God's Word or as essential to salvation. It's very evident that Rev. Macdonald is seeking the honor and glory of Christ before all else, and speaking with love and tenderness for His flock.
Great Sermon! Paul is not against James and James is not against Paul. Faith of old testament saints, Hebrews 11 all died before Christ manifest his coming in his humility, and lived the perfect substitute life and manifest the only good work that James is talking about.Faith until Christ came was dead. They died in faith. Then when Christ finished his works they raised and lived Amen
Clear wonderful sermon! Thank you so much for this clear teaching on justification and faith. Unless there is a marked change in our lives as Christians, how can we be truly saved? It is true that we do not repent once, but continue to repent of our daily sins whilst also bearing fruit that is a testament to our salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, being enabled by the Holy Spirit to do so.
Balm for the Soul This was a sermon that came just at the right time for me and provided great comfort. Though a long way off Pastor James’ gentle expository sermons are a must listen for me every week now. You can find sermons from him every week on the Free Church Comtining Harris website. He has also written two very conforting daily devotionals for people with depression.
Jesus of Nazareth is passing by So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way admonished him to be silent, but he cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
FOR HIS CHURCH Even though many have commented I had to add another one. This sermon is superb and should be heard by every Christian on earth. As Dr. Murray mentioned, this practice is nothing new. Such things have happened throughout history but is happening more now than ever before. This sermon was given 15 years ago but is more relevant now than ever. Movies, TV, internet, and other videos are dangerous. Please listen.
