Future Glory Suffering is NOT the wrath of God. The wrath of God was put on Jesus. Instead, it is discipline from a loving Father. The Spirit helps us in our weakness. So, walk by the Spirit, with Jesus, on the way to the hope of the resurrection. Good sermon, Thanks John.
Great Sermon! The law exposes and excites sin. The law does not promise life for it requires perfect obedience which we cannot do. It shows the depth of our problem. It's there so that we long for a savior. We are born into sin and cannot please God without his grace and mercy. You need a savior. Jesus is that Savior. Glory to God! Great sermon!
Rejoice I struggled with the word "Rejoice" in this passage. How do I feel Joyful, Happy, Pleasure...in the midst of suffering?
Not in the midst, but through endurance, it builds my character which gives me HOPE. I endure in Faith, resting in the Peace that I have in God. I rejoice in a certain HOPE because God's love for me is certain. As the father brought the Son through tremendous suffering to Glory, so he will bring me through suffering into Glory being helped by the Holy Spirit.
Rejoice = Triumph = Victory. PTL!
Thank you John for this sermon.
Keep up the good work Scott and I have really appreciated your series in 1 Timothy. Lots of good points were made in this sermon.
I especially liked your advice to work at things incrementally rather than having an all or nothing attitude.
Great Sermon! Answer the charge to wage the good warfare in love from a pure heart, in a good conscience and a sincere faith. Great sermon! Thanks John.
Great Sermon! This sermon was the clarity that I claimed in prayer as I dangled in darkness with no arm of flesh to help. O the clamoring of those who strive for human help and do not trust the My God will Supply. Thank you, you need to expound on this more, for the help and faith of Gods people.
Great Sermon! Great Sermon, John. I liked how you stuck to the passage and explained it well, not to mention in an interesting and thought-provoking way. God bless!
