“ American Dream: Sin of Covetousness ” This sermon clearly shows that the American dream is really the sin of covetousness. It is worth noting the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31 in response to this sin of covetousness known as the American dream.
“ A Death Sentence To The American Dream ” There are numerous Bible verses which talk about how temporal earthly life will vanish away. This sermon is literally a death sentence to the American Dream. Then again, all of those Bible verses like 1 John 2:15-17 which speak of the temporal vanities of the world disappearing are a death sentence to the American Dream. Also worth noting Matthew 16:24-28, Mark 8:34-38, and Luke 9:23-27 as well as Luke 16:19-31 and James 4:13-17. Trying to "save" your earthly life only means that you will lose it, but losing your life for The Sake of Jesus means that you will find it.
