“ Extraordinary Sermon! ”
Reasons to rent our clothes and cover ourselves with ashes. If God marked iniquity we'd all be cinders. This is a sermon that brings one (myself first) to repentance and to the knees. Praise God for mercy.

“ The Change in Elihu ”
Brother Jim, Your lessons have been a great help to me in my own journey through Job with my church. Our approach is a little different, but I assure you that the spirit behind our approach is quite the same. This lesson was such a help to me as you show Elihu's far-off gaze at the approaching storm. Great stuff.

“ Other Apostles ”
Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. Acts 14:14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, Romans 16:7, Paul says that Adronicus and Junia are "my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles." The Greek word translated as "of note" is episemos, defined by Strong as "remarkable, i.e. (fig.) eminent," so it could be implied that they were also apostles. distinguished apostles" (Barnes). It must concluded that whether they were apostles or not is unclear. James, the Lord's brother, was not an original apostle, but was in the upper room at Pentecost (Acts 1:14). At a later time, he assumed leadership of the Jerusalem church. Galatians 1:19-20 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. 20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

“ Great Sermon! ”
These are some things that I have learned and treasured from this sermon: Judgment may not come in a height of sin. Lesser evil is not going to in anyway a scape of consequences from God. Actual events of Judgment may come when things are not as bad in relative sense. Israel had forsaken God and ignored His guidance and correction. So God finally stop actively protecting them. A desire to be like a world or loving the the world like what Israel did will be the cause of compromising and will lead to forsaking God. Unless we love the Lord supremely, we will not be able to love our children, spouse and fellowmen. When God brings judgment, He must first send warnings. If we vow to nothingness(idols), we will become nothing. When we begin to worship true God in a false way(own way),we will end up worshiping false God. God doesn't accept worship that is not in accordance with His word. Today, what is true takes second place of what we enjoy and like and feel good. Biblical Christian must worship base on what God declares.
