Friendships are to be cherished, just as the master cherishes us. A word for the hour, an inspiring message.

“ Enjoyed listening to Dr hannah ”
Wisdom comes from his thinking. He is talking to me; not preaching. It is warm and real and personal. Could listen to him a lot.

Following in a Childlike Way

“ Delightful Sermon! ”
Dear brother Kroucas, thankyou for such a delightful sermon. It was good to be reminded about what it means to have a childlike faith, and also the red flags in regards to the rich young ruler. The only blot for me was the modern bible that was used, because in the A.V. Mark 10:21 has the words *take up the cross*,which was missing in the versian read.A red flag to you dear brother about how one should prove all things regarding Bible versians ! It was a great sermon though. May the Lord bless your ministry to the glory of His name.

Response to Tragedy

“ Just what we needed ”
A beautiful message from the pulpit. We do need to mourn and we do need to reach out to each other during times of tragedy. It was a fitting message to download and hear on the first day of classes here at Virginia Tech.

“ Citizenship ”
The whole point of the sermon is underlined with the concept of our citizenship. The sermon concludes wonderfully with a great (and personal) example of that citizenship.

Sermon:
Wise and Foolish Choices
Dave Kenyon

“ A fitting end to the series ”
The last in the series comes to a fitting end. Jesus warns about false teachers and introduces the narrow gate, the solid rock and the false followers who attempt to justify themselves. The "false teachers" subject could easily go another hour, especially with a crowd of college students in the congregation. Dave Kenyon concludes with "Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life...if you have any questions about that, come see me". Every sermon should conclude in such a way.

Prayer and Our Father, pt 1

“ An audience of one ”
A sermon that could probably be repeated every year. Instead of seeking fame and the accolades of our peers, we should seek the comfort of being alone with our Father in Heaven.

Sermon:
Toward Sanctification
Tom Koontz

comment
“ It's about the text ”
The sermon is more about the text than Sanctification. Koontz unravels the text very well and hammers home the points in the Scripture. The sermon could not be a minute shorter. The sermon really focuses on our sexual responsibility or lack thereof. It just takes a while to build to that point as we are encouraged towards holiness. You don't hear many sexual responsibility sermons preached in this way.

“ A new twist on the old man ”
An old man/new man sermon that asks makes a new request at the end. Ask God for a glimpse of the old man. Most sermons don't ask us to look back to see our depravity. A very good message about confronting sin and recognizing our newness in Christ. A good companion sermon is Alan Cairn's epic "The Old Man Crucified".

Sermon:
Hell's Reality
Tom Koontz

“ THE sermon on Hell ”
I listen to a lot of sermons on Sermon Audio and have been for a couple of years. I rarely encounter sermons dealing specifically with Hell. Usually, Hell gets a mention or it is part of the sermon. But Hell rarely gets tackled head-on. The reason for this is I believe is that 99% of the congregations in America would rather not hear about Hell in any depth. Someone forgot to inform Tom Koontz of this fact and he delivers a 40 minute reason why every person should be concerned about Hell. By the time the sermon is over, you are convinced of everyone's need to be delivered from Hell. If you ever have a need to introduce someone to the Biblical explanation of Hell, this is it. Warning: This is not spiritual milk. It is very rich in Biblical doctrine and there are no "rest periods".

Sermon:
Receiving the Word
Sandy Young
1
comment
“ Good message on The Word ”
A great message on the two attributes of the Gospel. It is life-changing and it is life-shaking. It is a comfort to believers and disturbing to non-believers. Those who reject the Word are hostile to its message. Those who accept the Word are changed forever. Great personal testimonies by Young, great argument on the "pushing religion" criticism. The last 10 minutes ask "Where are you?".
