Two scriptures come to mind: “Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.” (Esther 8:8 KJV) and “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4 KJV)

“ Pro Sports: Pro Idolatry ” This sermon totally defeats the idolatry of pro sports as well as showing the dangerous consequences of idolizing pro athletes and sports in general. For example, the prestigious, but prideful, baseball player named Darrell Johnson (August 25, 1928 – May 3, 2004) was known as the "Manager of the Year" by both The Sporting News and the Associated Press.
However, on May 3, 2004, Darrell Johnson died at 75 of leukemia, a cancerous disease attacking the bone marrow. The death of Darrell Johnson on May 3, 2004 of leukemia shows that worldly prestige in the form of athletic accolades are totally meaningless. This sermon shows why the idols of pro sports and prestige destroy those who seek it. Thus, the desire for the idol of pro sports and prestige leads to death, both physical and spiritual.

“ Great Sermon! ” Wow I guess I really miss what fervency really means sometimes, and this Sermon reminds me of my lack yes; but also of the love of Christ and blessing that also comes with learning obedience.
“ Pro Sports: Factory of Idols ” As John Calvin said, the human heart is a factory of idols. Based on the wise words of John Calvin, we see that pro sports is a factory of idols, namely idols in the form of athletes, both professional and amateur, awards, memorabilia, and merchandise.
“ I Forgot About the 'Savior Only' Teaching ” If repentance is works then so is confessing with our mouths, not to mention "the act" of believing in our hearts (Rm 10:9)! And speaking of works, Bro. Robert, do you know where these people put the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives? Do they not think that believing, confessing, repenting is because of the Spirit? Thank you, Bro. “ Olympic Athletes: Whoremongers and Adulterers ” Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4).
The Olympic Games, like everything related to pro sports, is rife with whoremongers and adulterers. We know these whoremongers and adulterers as Olympic athletes and pro athletes, especially those pro athletes and Olympic athletes identifying as "evangelicals."

And also I thank you Marius Louw for pointing out my mistake. I MEANT the word "Mercy" does not appear in the Gospel of John... I knew it was word that is a major Biblical them that is super obviously taught throughout the whole Bible just like "Repent" (turning away from sin).

Did you know that the word "Grace" is NOT found in the book of John either?
Repentance is consistently demonstrated and explained exactly what it is in the Book of John (even if the word "repent" is not "found")
For example? ... John 3:19-21 ... DEEDS should be reproved... as in DEEDS that were EVIL.
And what of those who BELIEVE only? Well Jesus corrects a faulty understanding to these certain disciples that were BELIEVERS as Jesus HIMSELF points out in John 8:30-32... IF IF IF IF IF IF IF ye as in ye specifically... (believer) "continue in my word"
Of a truth... as in "Verily verily" Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin ... John 8:33-37
Thar be a buncha mo examples in the Gospel of John... EXACTLY what REPENTANCE means and is. Those who don't want Jesus to Reign over them... Well they tell you that repentance has nothing to do with turning away from sin; why? guess... LOL they love their sin and don't want to give it up and have Jesus actually be their Lord and "Reign over them".

“ Super Sinful Pride ” There is something obvious about superheroes mentioned by the speaker in this sermon. Superheroes, like Superman and Batman, are full of sinful pride, especially the pride of prestige, the pride of respectability, and the pride of reputation.
While Our Lord requires us to walk in a more lowly direction, the superhero stories cater to sinful pride. Thus, being a superhero is just being sinfully prideful. Remember the wisdom of Proverbs 16:18.
“ You are what you wear, Christian or not. ” Should Christians dress the same way as Society does? Many conservative pastors today are teaching that Christians should dress in a manner "appropriate" to the surrounding culture, without exceptions. But the scriptures clearly teach and forbid wearing certain fashions and maintaining standards contrary to pagan culture and Society. This includes distinguishing clearly between the sexes. What is fashionable among men is abomination before God. Under the pretense of Christian Liberty it is now common for professing Christians to imitate the world without thinking or caring. The sermon traces the Christian cultural downgrade vs. the scriptures.
