The Old Path Fortner states "Our hearts sincerity will not atone for sin. Your hearts sincerity will not satisfy Divine Justice. You must have an alter of sacrifice by which justice has been satisfied to find acceptance with God and that is Christ the Lord."
It seems he is saying here it is not about us or our efforts but rather about God and his sacrifice that we look to. Grace rather than works.
Great message Truly edifying. If salvation could be obtained strictly under the natural hearing of the truth, then this sermon would be "required hearing" for all who were serious about their own. Yet not even a sermon of this magnitude will enable a dead sinner to hear without the grace of God. To Him be the glory.
Great Book! Very well-written, and most importantly, scripturally accurate, discription of the true Church of God. Thank you Pastor Fortner for your faithfullness to the word of God, and your committment to proclaim it without apology!
Great Sermon! After hearing more than a dozen of sermons on Exsodus 18, all praising Jethro, I would like to say to you: Keep preaching precious brother!!!
Great Sermon! This is another great sermon wherein it was presented how a person has to know what that inbred sin rendered him dead and hopeless without hearing and believing that wonderful gospel accomplished work of Christ.
God Reigns We see the modern "church" implore to "Come to Jesus" by walking up the aisle and then when the going gets tough just as eagerly send us to the "Christian Counselor. Fortner rightly points out how guilty we are as believers to show the same lack of faith in the promises of God's Word which is the true rock which we can stand on in our greatest trials.
Praise the Lord!! I cried for joy to hear this sermon. God sent this sermon to me through Pastor Don when I so needed it. Thank you!! I am free! Free of anxiety!
Great Sermon! This sermon clearly presented and exposed a faithful and true God to His promise, to the one whom He had opened the eyes to the finished work of Christ, there is no more room to doubt. His name is Faithful and True! He never change, He is worthy to give all your are, we are no longer our own.
Religion everywhere! No truth to be found... Dear Brother Don, The message you expound in this sermon is so vital! Thank you so much for your succinct delivery of The Gospel of Sovereign Grace. When a prominent Columbus businessman died recently (he had become very wealthy selling his fast food restaurant franchises worldwide), his church buddies wrote their condolences in an online obituary guestbook. One man wrote, "We'll miss you, pal. Good to know you're up there teaching God how to make hamburgers." This is sickening to anyone who truly knows that hell awaits the sinner! As you said, this sentiment is prevalent everywhere in our society. Everybody who dies is "in heaven", no matter how they blasphemed the LORD in their life, no matter how they hated Him, His people and the truth of His Word. They all are in heaven now. "RIP, better off now." On and on! We pray that the LORD will prosper the preaching of His Truth in this hour. God bless you and all His preachers and teachers. He promises that our labors will bear fruit unto eternal life! We love the video. The last time we saw you preach in person was in 1995, when you met us and some other folks at a hotel here in Columbus.
Great Sermon! This sermon just truly testified that the word of the Gospel is powerful and alive. The word which we heard by the preaching came to our heart with power. That preaching which was preached in the past was entitled, "Made Sin" in the epistle of Paul to the Corinthians and "Stand Fast" from the epistle to the Galatians.
