Great comfort. Oh, the comfort and the happiness of experiencing the presence of God in all our furnaces and trials! No compromise, and we will taste the blessing of God again and again!
Example. “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank†(Daniel 1:8).
Observe that it doesn't say that all 4 young men purposed in their hearts not to defile themselves. Everything started with the purpose of one! Daniel was that man who purposed not to defile himself, not to trample under his feet the Word of the Lord. The other three young men were influenced and encouraged by Daniel’s example. What I found here very encouraging is that their need ONE MAN to purpose in his heart to stay for the Lord. And his example will be followed by others.
Great Sermon! In these uncertain times when the horizon seems dark, this sermon was truly a balm to my soul. Thinking back about this sermon I was reminded of the verse in Isaiah 40: "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God".
Great Sermon! A wonderful encouraging sermon for us to remind us that God is in control. And rather than doom and gloom that some (even Christians) perpetually focus on, there are glorious things ahead for us and for Israel.
Horrible nature of sin. Good description of the awful and hellish nature of sin. What a ferocious selfishness is sin! What a happiness to be freed from such a sin and from such degrading selfishness!
Great stand. Good message. Good arguments. May the Lord strengthen you to obey God rather than man. Continue to meet publicly, because there is no blessing or peace in compromise!
Great truth. Listening to this sermon I asked myself why so often I am not ready to be counted by people a worm, if my Lord was counted as such? My flesh do not like this. But it is appropriate for the child of God to be counted as his Lord, to be despised and rejected for Christ’s sake. We are called out of the camp to suffer His reproach. May the Lord help us to do so daily…
Most precious suffeings. Sufferings of Christ, so bitter for Him, so sweet for me, because in them is my eternal salvation. All eternity we will praise the sufferings of the Lamb.
Glorious Redeemer. Blessed, glorious and beautiful Lord Jesus, He is my King and My lord in 2012. When I turn my eyes from the Lord Jesus, I fall in ugliness and misery.
Very convicting and comforting This message was a tremendous blessing to me this morning. What an evil thing sin is. What an amazing and wonderful Savior we have! Thank you for this exposition of God's word.
A timely reminder! "For what is your life?" A timely reminder that our time upon this earth is short and we must be ready for eternity! May God bring Christ to your heart this day.
