Great Sermon! I was there. It was around 1992-1994. It was at the North Dallas Sectional Meeting for pastors of the Assemblies of God, at Garland First Assembly of God in Garland, Texas. E Wayne Hanks was the pastor of the church and District presbyter and Dr. Mike Smalley had invited him to the meeting. He declined at first and said that he no longer took invitations to preach because of his age. Later, he said God woke him up in the middle of the night to pray and told him to go. I remember observing Ravenhill sitting in the chair on the platform and praying into his fist during the 30 minutes of praise and worship and introductions. Dr. Mike Smalley helped him to the pulpit and he leaned on it as he was weak in his legs. I was on the front row and the two pastors that he rebuked were sitting behind me two rows back and they were talking to each other in whispers and seemed to be laughing about things during the whole time Ravenhill was preaching. It was obvious that they were somewhere else mentally and I found it odd that they were not giving Ravenhill their rapt attention. It was at the end of the sermon that he rebuked them and I was glad. I knew that they needed it. I did not understand why they did not sense the Holy Spirit telling them that this was an historic moment.
Power from on high. Only a man who was taught by Christ can preach like this, not one who learned simply from books. The preacher taught by the Holy Spirit has power from on high.
Great blessings. Blessed longing for revival, blessed prayer for revival, blessed seeking of God, and blessed experience of Hos power in an outpouring of His Holy Spirit!
Great blessing for my soul. This message was a great blessing for my soul today. What a blessed life with God presented here. I highly recommend this message to people who long for a real walk with God.
Great Sermon! I have just discovered Pastor Roloff and am listening to all his sermons online . As a young girl from New Zealand I spent 10 months in America. If only I had listened to him then, instead of making my life a trainwreck. The young people in his homes were fortunate indeed.
Soul shaking I am left speechless. Probably one of the most powerful messages I've ever heard. It has the same potency of a Johnathon Edward's Sinners in the Hands of An Angry God message. If this preaching was in the pulpit today, people would be screaming toward the door or to the floor.
