Powerfully defining Heaven and Hell Have you ever realized that you were headed to the destination of destruction or do you know someone headed there? Have you ever needed a Savior? Starting at minute 17 of this audio....
Hell is the destination of destruction. Hell is the spiritual and material furnace of fire where its victims in there, minds, bodies, and souls are eternally tormented to the full degree and capacity that beings can take. And they are tormented to there full capacities by devil and demons and other damned beings. And they are tormented by memories by consciences without any possibilities of release...no mercy, no pity from God. It is absolute darkness. Hell is the pain of fire...it is torment. It is all the horrors you can imagine combined in one place. It is being surrounded by the fearful, unbelieving, the sorcerers, the idolaters and they will surround everyone else that is there. There is no getting out. There is no relief. There is no exit date...there is only more....more torment. That's the destination of destruction.
And then there is the destination of life....heaven. Heaven can be described in terms of it's enduring, in terms of its glory, in terms it being the place that God lives, in terms of being the rich inheritance for all those who believe. It's a city, it's the joy of the L
Helpful Sermon A good, concise overview of several reasons why we ought to sing the Psalms.
I do not hold to Exclusive Psalmody, but I am becoming more and more convinced that singing the Psalms is to be preferred over uninspired hymns for any and every reason that one could come up with as why something ought to be sung.
Wonderful sermon What a thorough, biblical, passionate sermon on this beautiful portion of scripture! Very moving and encouraging. Gives me great hope to keep praying for unregenerate sinners whom I know and love.
Instructive Astonishing how those most 'versed' in theology were those who spread the most outrageous lies against the perfect Saviour, and misinterpreting the works of the very Spirit of God fell into unpardonable blasphemy.
Great Sermon! Defining worship and the regulative principle of worship (RPW). In case you miss it at 38:00 the full reformed definition of worship “To worship God is to bow down before His majestic glory, and in spirit and in truth to bring Him in and through Jesus Christ alone, and according to the scriptures alone, the honor the praise that belong to Him alone.”
Acceptable worship must be honoring to God, must be mediated by Christ, must be controlled by scripture, and must be offered in spirit and truth.
A timely message. Thank you. Having lived through this type of battle, I want to thank you for addressing it from the pulpit in such a Biblical way. All that I have ever wanted to do was honour the Lord, which is why I stayed. It was only when I came to realize that only by allowing sin to come to light instead of sheltering it, could I properly honour the Lord. Generally I have had much needed help, but I believe that reformers have room to be educated further on how to deal with this complex issue. May the Lord continue to bless your preaching ministry.
Great Great Sermon! Thank you so much Rev. VanBrugge ,
Your sermon spoke straight to my heart and thanks again for your reminder to " KEEP LOOKING UNTO JESUS THE SOURCE OF OUR HOPE" than focusing on my circumstances.
May God bless you and your ministry Abundantly.
