“ Convicting & Edifying ” I found myself immediately looking deep within my heart to see how I was responding to the things that were first mentioned at the beginning of the sermon, i.e. "why am I at church"?
The attitude of prayer (if we are praying, how we are praying, and why we pray) is an issue we all need to consider as prayer is often made light of.
The comparison of what a true Christian looks like, acts like, and how the world views them was a great picture to paint for all of us to reflect on and consider.
The first half of the message was very clear in what God allowed you to share for us to consider.
The transition from the first half of the message (preaching) to the second half of the message (teaching) displayed how you wanted us to understand what true repentance looks like and you allowed all to see that is was not just some frustrated rant.
Overall, the message was very refreshing and edifying. It has caused me to ask God to search my heart deeply and cry out to him for true repentance in area of my life.
May God continue to grant you the wisdom and boldness as you preach the truth!
“ A wake-up call! ” As Pastor Tippins makes clear: We Christians should be aiming to live (and suffer) to the Glory of God, not escape through the bliss of alcohol, or any other substance. This is a wake-up call to me, a former alcoholic...one of a small percentage who escaped thanks to the Lord. Oh yes, I miss it at times; but it is clearly very wrong of me to do so, as Pastor Tippins makes very clear. May this message penetrate my hard hard head...and bless others who might be tempted by beverage alcohol.
