Reformation in England. Reformation in England. Presentation of the contributions to Reformation by Tyndale, Cranmer, Ridley, Hooper, Latimer and Bradford. Good introduction to the study of the lives of these men of God. An observation: Erasmus published the Greek NT, not translated it from Latin into Greek.
Great light. Good presentation of Luther's life and ministry. Indeed, he is a man given by God to His Church. In His love and jealousy for His Church, God brought the Reformation and brought life in His Church.
Great man of God. Role of Calvin in reforming Geneva, his controversies, his teaching, his passions for evangelism and for the salvation of souls. Some historians do not agree with the idea that Calvin was converted in 1529 at Bourges, as it is presented here.
Great work of God. Good introduction to the life of Wycliffe. Wycliffe seen as a scholar, politician and heretic (the Papacy saw him as a heretic). Some aspects of his teaching. Further references to the Lollards and Hus. And concluding lessons from the life of Wycliffe.
Very Good Opening of Owen This series by Pastor Bryant is well delivered, far exceeding my expectations. Between having this series on Tempation, and Les Walthers on the Mortification of Sin SID=826071918246, I am thankful for such additions on Sermon Audio. But even more so is the gift of having Bart and Lael and their families as personal friends. Thanks again for this S.S.
Thanks for this series Just discovered this series this morning, downloaded all of them. If someone told me of a church where the Religious Affections by J Edwards, Of Temptation by John Owen were being taught in S.S. and the pastor was going through the book of Galatians, I would reply, "sounds like one healthy church to me." Thanks so much!
Glory to God! Thank you pastor Cook for faithfully preaching the simple yet profound Gospel, which is indeed the power of God unto those who believe.
Great Sermon! Home on the Lord's Day, I listened to Pastor Martin's sunday school. Thought it would be of some spiritual help because of his age and probable long tenure in the ministry.
Thank-you, Lord for giving this man wisdom! If you are uncertain whether or not to listen - do yourself and God-given family a favor - listen.
Reformed Christians listen. So many in the church today want the theology of the Puritans but not their piety(pastor friend once told me). Listen and be blessed.
Job 1:8
Great Sermon! Thank you for providing so much growth potential in GOD'S WORD through your sermon on Spiritual Warfare. No matter what I need, the truth and wisdom in GOD'S WORD will touch my life and the lives of many christians, all is needed is to reach out to the Holy pages of the Bible for growth and to heal a world in pain. Thank you again GOD BLESS YOU.
Great Sermon! Thank you Pastor Boyce for this great testimony of the Old and New Testaments it shows the world that GOD has never deserted those who believe in HIM because they have experienced HIS faithfulness through the darkest of situations. Christians stands firmly on GOD'S Promises. Praise GOD. Blessings to you.
Great Sermon! The best sermon I have heard on assurance! David Chanski is a wonderful preacher of God and presents the subject in a biblicly solid way and being very practical as well. Amen!
Excellent, great applications! Richard Baxter wrote in 1664 in directions against fornication, "If you think this course too dear, and had rather cherish your flesh and lust, you are not the persons I am now directing, for I speak only to those who are willing to be cured, and to use the necessary means to be cured. If you be not brought to this, your conscience has need of better awakening." This sermon is a great warning.
Great Sermon! We often choose to listen to S.A. messages that we feel will most be of benefit or a warning to us. Almost all men stand in need of a warning of this kind, and I knew the application here would be strong and powerful, as I have come to so respect the messenger. I listened to it twice yesterday, and the warning is clear, too many men have fallen here. The devil has "hit the bullseye", and the repeated battle has worn many a man down, some forever. A timely warning, an excellent message.
Great Sermon! It is always a pleasure to discover another pastor whose preaching I have long been fond of now has their sermons being placed on Sermon Audio. Certainly this is the case with Pastor Cook. I have always loved to visit his church and hear his preaching - or better when he visits this side of Michigan. I look forward to downloading many of his sermons here and listening to them at work.
Great Sermon! This verse came to mind after listening to this sanctifying sermon.
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength. ~ Isaiah 40:29, ESV
Thank you Lord.
