“ Great Sermon! ”
Am almost halfway through this book and so far I find it very informative. Thank you for recommending this and please keep up the good work in promoting and defending the traditional text of scripture and in particular that of the New Testament. When I finish this book it is my intention to do a disertation on it and hopefully teach it at a men's fellowship.

Christian Response to MGTOW

“ Red Pill Fellowship - MGTOW ”
I enjoyed your talk. I too was a member of a Reformed Baptist church before my divorce in 2000. I am glad you mentioned the sinful nature of all humans - Total Depravity. This is the reason MGTOW exists. I realize that going your OWN way vs. God's way is the very definition of sin. However, the phrase means "opting out of the gynocentric society in which we now live." This is Biblical. Do not be conformed to the world, but rather be transformed. Come out from among them and be ye separate. Sanctify yourself. This is the spirit of MGTOW. When a husband is abusive, how do you counsel the wife? Leave! Flee! How about when a wife is abusive? Leave? or stay and endure it until the bitter end? See the double standard? My wife showed signs of rebellion early on. We engaged in pastoral counseling for 10 years - with zero results. She was hostile, selfish, materialistic, disobedient, spent money like crazy. There was no reasoning with or stopping her. There was verbal abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse and financial abuse. Yet the pastor never once admonished or rebuked her. But he did me - often. Yes, in the church, everything is the men's fault. Women get a free pass because they are the "weaker vessel." MGTOW is a logical and practical way for men to take evasive action.

Not the first time I've disagreed with Piper. Some of our church staff quote him so much, as if he were the second coming.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Was thinking about these very things this very morning, so glad just now to hear this sermon with a good explanation of Divine Sovereignty and man's responsibility and how we are not robots! So I am enabled to freely tick the box on reCAPTCHA 'I'm not a robot' believing God in His Sovereignty brought me to this very time and place and to this sermon! Eph 1:3-6 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved' Predestination with purpose, for without His choosing PREDESTINATION according to the good pleasure of His own will, there would be no praising the glory of His free and sovereign grace in Christ! So those who belittle and seek to censure those who preach the whole counsel of God need to take heed lest they unwittingly censure the Holy Spirit who addresses all classes of hearers in His revealed Word with the doctrine of PREDESTINATION.

Erasmus Anecdotes
Jeff Riddle

“ very helpful and instructive ”
the effort to topple the Textus Receptus 'The paper explores two dubious scholarly anecdotes which frequently circulate regarding Erasmus' Novum Instrumentum (1516), which I refer to as the "rush to print" anecdote and the "rash wager" anecdote.  Here is a snippet from the paper: It is the contention of this paper that during the nineteenth century, as part of the effort to topple the Textus Receptus and support the rise of the modern critical text, a number of unflattering scholarly anecdotes regarding Erasmus’ Greek text began to circulate in secondary literature on the text and translation of the New Testament.  Several of these anecdotes have taken on legendary if not mythic proportions, having been passed from scholar to scholar and from student to student, often without any firm evidence or proof from primary sources to support their veracity.  Furthermore, these anecdotes continue to be retold from teaching lecterns and to be reprinted in contemporary works on text and translation.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I know we're supposed to be charitable to our brethren who love the Alexandrian texts, but I can't help but wonder what the condition of Christ's church would have been today if they would have only left well enough alone 100 or so years ago.

I appreciate Pastor Riddle's reply to James White's words on Luke 23:34. The Muslim Apologist didn't see anything but was simply looking for any way possible to discredit the authenticity of God's Word.

“ Selfishness ”
Selfishness isn't living your life how you want. A key component of selfishness is a lack of consideration for others. In fact, one might say that selfishness might be forcing other to live how you would prefer to. No wonder even religious men tend to avoid organized church

“ Needed Discussion ”
This is no doubt a needed discussion of great importance, which must be handled in the spirit of meekness. Gal.6:1 I pray that the Lord will grant you wisdom and bless your labors as you are preparing to discuss this issue coming up in Sep. at the Keach Conference. All who are confessing, reformed Baptists dealing with this issue need to call to mind and apply these verses: Pro.16:32; Gal.5:22-23; 2 Pet.1:5-9; Eph.4:26-27

“ Very interesting. ”
Very good and all very interesting and edifying! It was good to see the video you posted on your blog and Robert Truelove's conclusion from 57.40 onwards and his perceptive comment about the Critical Text disciples of James White occasionally being just as rabid (and just as uninformed) as the KJO Ruckmanites. May we fervently pray that God will be pleased to increase an interest in that "small but growing movement in some Reformed circles to rethink the adoption of the modern critical text and to take seriously the confessional articulation of the doctrine of the divine preservation of Scripture in chapter one of the WCF and the 2LBCF (1689) May the Lord continue to bless your own labours which are most helpful and instructive. Thank you!

“ Good Argumentation ”
MacArthur states in his study Bible in the study notes on John 7:53-8:11. "In spite of all these considerations of the unlikely unreliability of this section ,it is possible to be wrong on the issue, and thus it is good to consider the meaning of this passage and leave it in the text, just as with Mark 16:9-20."

“ Interesting interview! ”
Over the last decade I have providentially greatly benefited from sermons on SermonAudio from all these contributors to the KJV Study Bible, Joel Beeke, Michael Barrett, Geoff Banister, Brian Borgman, Ian Goligher, John Greer, Jerold Lewis, Alan MacGregor, Andy McIntosh, Pooyan Mehrshahi, Colin Mercer, David Murray, Maurice Roberts, David Silverside, John Thackway, and Malcolm Watts. So also noting so many godly UK contributors- including the Chairman and members of the Trinitarian Bible Society, it is a real blessing to hear this interview, and also a joy to have received my own copy of this highly recommended KJV study Bible which I am sure will prove a blessing to multitudes! It was a good question about the 1689 Confession being included in future editions!

“ Great Sermon! ”
I am sure this message will trouble many of us who are reformed and hold to the providential preservation of the word of God. The video in question can be accessed on Pastor Riddle's website blog via his SermonAudio page. This 'word magazine' is a 'must listen' and thought provoking (even disturbing) as we often tend to follow without question the most acclaimed authorities on textual issues. The Muslim Apologist saw something plain and obvious, but do we?
