“ Great Sermon! ” Another timely message from Pastor Hetherington. With many so called churches living in disobedience to Gods order regarding head covering it's not a surprise revival tarries.
“ Wholesome approach ” The topic is a matter of obedience, not culture, as stated. May Christians turn from disobedience, and point to the world, God's design in the creation of male and female.
With the none biblical unisex philosophy rampant everywhere, the Christian church has the opportunity to show submission to God’s original order, by males and females taking on their God given roles in the homes, families and society, and by ladies observing head-covering in worship, and rejecting contradictory unisex dress codes in their every day lives. There is a definition for prophesying in I Cor 14:3.'He that prophesies speaks unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort'. Significantly, Pastor Mark Allison, has preached on the same topic over this weekend also. Every blessing to any considering the matter.
“ Sanctifying study ” The necessity of holiness is established from a doctrinal point of view. The teaching innately/inherently entices the soul into the practice of holiness.
“ Christ exalting study ” This is a beautiful and inspiring devotional preceding the Lord's Table of Remembrance.
Inclined to see Melchizedek meeting Abram in Genesis as a Christophany, typifying Christ in his unique rank towards God on our behalf. Much appreciated.
“ Great Sermon! ” When the lord read from Scoll in the temple he read it as it was and I believe if the lord was to walk in a room in England and all the manydiffferent versions were laid out I have full confidence that he would pick up the old av!
“ Great comfort. ” What a great and blessed comfort to know that the Lord Jesus is praying for me! I am still on the way not because of my power and determination, but because the Lord Jesus prayed for me. Even when I sinned, the Lord Jesus prayed for my repentance and restoration.
“ Great Sermon! ” I love the way pastor chalen brings out so many different facets from a small portion of scripture. I did initially feel that the argument about women deacons was taking the meaning of scripture too far- but on further study I think he is correct. There is no biblical linguistic evidence to support female deacons. Very interesting and thought provoking.
“ Oh blessed ministry ” Wholesome, I have never really understood exactly what laying up treasures was until I heard this sermon..This sermon is llike the most precious gold. I have heard many good preachers but Pastor Hetherington is truly exceptional. THANK YOU
