Great Sermon! A gripping and sober message of truth concerning God's place for the wicked.
How wonderful that God sent his son the Lord Jesus Christ to make a way for many lost sinners to obtain eternal life with him. James 1:17,18 What a wonderful Saviour he is!
Great Sermon! My, how real HELL was in this wonderful devotional. We have family who have made the decision to NOT RECEIVE Christ as their personal Saviour and HOW VERY SAD that they now are experiencing this very HORRIBLE "DARKNESS, FIRE, AND CHAINS" which were spoken of in today's rendition. Thank you for your continued faithfulness!!
Great Sermon! Good ministry. Very much appreciated. There is no doubt that the ultimate hope is eschatological. It is also worthy of note that we see Him now, for those who are in Christ have entered the initial spiritual phase of the kingdom-the Beatitudes are the characteristics of those who have entered the kingdom. This is the inclusio: "for theirs is the kingdom".
The only proper motive in the pursuit of holiness is an intense desire to see more and more of Christ in our daily experience. Many reformed people would nod their heads to such statements. In practical terms, however, their is a vast difference between the Sovereign Grace and the Reformed perspective. The previous view holds to sanctification by grace. Most Reformed Baptists hold to sanctification by the the Law. This simply doesn't work. They often quote the reformed mantra: "Moses will lead you to Christ to be justified and then Christ will lead you back to Moses to be sanctified." I personally believe that this perspective is the root cause why so many Churches are characterized by dry, spiritless preaching, not to mention rank legalism. I am a Sovereign Grace preacher and am facinated by the grace of God. May God renew our understanding of His grace. It is this that will cause us to mortify sin and pursue holiness.
Very True! This is very true - how I pray more people will open their ears to God's Word!
Thank you for taking the time to record these devotionals. It is good to not only read the Word of God, but also to hear it spoken.
Great Sermon! I appreciated your post on infant baptism and am sadly surprised it caused such a stir. Coming from a Catholic family background, I have seen first hand the damning effects of such teaching and practice. Posting such straightforward doctrine can only be a help. Thank you!
Great Sermon! This short sermon is a calming and peaceful blessing, especially when going through very difficult trials.
Please hear it! Love in Christ, English Rose
Great Teaching Another puritan with great Bible teaching and practical Biblical know how. C.H.Spurgeon was one of Alleine's fans and I can see why in the way he handles and communicates Bible truth. This lecture is well worth the time spent on listening and confirming your own conversion. Quote, "Prove your conversion and then never doubt your election." Quote, "If you will not feed on the Word, then you will choke on the bones." Excellent teacher as always with the Puritan's. Thankyou!
A Gem Of Grace I love these short Grace Gems. The puritans were such practical Bible expositors and Thomas Watson a goodly minister of such gems. Thankyou!
