Superb sermon and so very true Thid is a superb sermon and so very true; so grateful to have learned of Rev. Thackway through Partick FCC's upload of the School of Theology archive.
Great Sermon! Miriam is not quite the heroine that most hold her up to be. This is a sobering reminder of the hatred God has for Pride and Rebellion. Her name means rebellious and she is listed alongside Lot's Wife as one to remember. Not for her usefulness (not saying she wasn't used) but for this terrible sin in rebelling and promoting herself as a teacher and leader in Israel. Thank you for this sermon brother. It was a help to me today.
Great Sermon! I too love Isaiah 53, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this sermon. In fact, I listened to it twice today. My wife and I are godparents to 2 lovely young ladies, daughters of some dear friends of ours. Unfortunately, Juliana, aged 7, passed on last Saturday as the result of an automobile accident. Your points on our time is appointed is correct, and I do believe God has a plan for everything. But it doesn’t stop it from hurting from missing sweet Juliana. We are comforted knowing that she is with Our Lord, and sincerely looking to the time we may all be together again. Thank you for the well-spoken heartfelt sermon, it was wonderful
Such a blessing! The Lord in His providence led me to this sermon and it perfectly addressed my needs.
So many times through the years, the Lord in His mercy has provided in the most urgent and critical situations. He will keep those who trust Him all the way from earth to glory, praise His wonderful name. Thank you Pastor Thackway for your faithful ministry, deeply appreciated.
Tremendous Sermon! Mercy is what we need constantly. Praise is what our merciful God is due. Worship is what blesses him when we realize how kind he is.
Great Sermon! timely message - yes, it does seem God is sifting the 'church'. Many big name evangelicals have or falling into ecumenism. Boldness and faithfulness are waning, the love of God and His truth is scarce.
"He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved". May God hold fast to His elect, strengthening, testing, and bringing to light the sins of the saints.
Faint hope--greater love Ester went in unto the king when it was not the law. She went boldly to the throne of grace and pleaded with the king to save her people. The king answered and wrote a decree. Faint hope lays down her life to save her soul. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:3).
