Great prayer. What spiritual maturity in Paul's prayers, in his petitions for God's people. I see myself very far from his spiritual wisdom in prayer! I have still many things to learn...
Power of the Gospel. The Gospel produces fruits in the members of the church in Colosse: faith, love, hope. The same Gospel will produce fruits today when it is preached.
Passion for Christ. Paul's passion for Christ. In the light of the danger in the church of Colosse, where false teachers taught that Christ is not enough for salvation and sanctification, Paul writes to exalt Christ's sufficiency.
This was a very interesting post and I do feel that if you are going to study a book it does make it more meaningful to read it. I am going to go through and listen to this series. It sounds like the Lord is truly blessing the church. May God continue to bless.
Great blessing! A blessed message to my soul! Great idea: the ministers in the church are God's gifts for the church - this helps us to appreciate them more. I liked especially the idea about what is not in the list in verse 11! Excellent teaching about the role of the church.
Glory. A glorious Christ and a glorious Gospel. A glorious salvation in the death of Christ for our sins. A glorious message of reconciliation to proclaim.
What a terrific story of God's faithfulness, both for your family and the Body at CEFC! Have a safe trip "home". We look forward to your arrival back here in a couple of weeks.
The otherness of God. Exalting the otherness of God: Gos is self-existent, self-sufficient, and infinitely perfect in all His attributes and actions. It was good to listen to a new sermon from you!
