We as a church are confident that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes (Rom. 1:16), and that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God (2 Tim. 3:16f) and are the only rule to direct us how we glorify and enjoy Him (1 Cor. 10:31). "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things; to whom be glory for ever. Amen." Rom 11:36 We as a church seek to glorify God by preaching the whole counsel of God's Word, both publicly, and from house to house (Acts 20:20&27), to the end that sinners would call upon the name of the Lord and be saved, be united to the visible church through baptism, and be built up in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "Let all things be done decently and in order." 1 Cor. 14:40 We as a church are committed to doing all things decently and in order, being convinced that God's work, done in God's way, will never lack God's blessing. To this end we seek to bring all our activities to the touchstone of the Word of God. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isa. 8:20 Our Doctrinal Declaration We confess the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Word of God written, the only infallible rule of faith and life. We declare the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms to be founded upon and agreeable to the Word of God in setting forth the sytem of truth taught in the Holy Scripture. We accept the Westminster "Directory for the Public Worship of God" as a scriptural and suitable guide for the conduct of public worship. We adopt the Presbyterian form of church government as the form of government instituted by Christ for the government of His church to the end of the age. Our Pastor Our Pastor, Tim Worrell planted this congregation in the Spring of 1998. He is a graduate of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. His ministry promotes the centrality of the pulpit, yet his preaching can be said to be "pastoral." Pastor Worrell seeks to preach consecutive, systematic, and occassional sermons in an effort to faithfully preach "the whole counsel of God." The preaching we hear week-by-week can be characterized as doctrinal, practical, and experimental. Pastor Worrell has been happily married to his wife Joy for twenty years. They have five children. In addition to his responsibilities with the church, Tim also consults as a Nuclear Engineer for Westinghouse part-time.
