Mount Carmel Church is a member church of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. We are a Christian church-- that is, we are a local body of believers in the Divine Person and saving work of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are Trinitarian, holding that the Scriptures teach the Oneness of God’s essence, but at the same time the Threeness of His personality, as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are Orthodox, in that we seek to have right teaching and practice, conforming to God’s Word, the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament.
We are Confessional, believing in the ancient Apostles, the Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. Our Confessional standards are the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Shorter and Larger Catechisms, subordinate to the Holy Scriptures. We are Presbyterian, with the local church led by elders (presbyters), meeting together regionally and nationally with our sister churches in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. That being said, in everything we do, we seek to fulfill our primary purpose according to the Shorter Catechism question 1, “to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.â€
