We believe the Bible reveals God as three persons in one divine being -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three persons exist eternally as one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory. •God the Father - Created all things out of nothing, chose His people unto salvation, sent His only Son to die for their sins, established His Covenant of Grace with us, by His hand provides all things for our body and soul. •God the Son, Jesus Christ - Was born of the Virgin Mary, a true man and true God in one person, lived a sinless life, suffered and died as a sacrifice for the sins of His people, arose bodily from the dead and ascended to the right hand of His Father, reigns now as Lord of all, is returning personally, visibly, and bodily to judge all people unto eternal life or death. •God the Holy Spirit - The third person of the Trinity, who gives us new birth and works faith in our hearts, guides us by the Word unto holy living, comforts us forever.
Reformed
Our name comes from the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century. The basic teachings of the Reformed faith: •The Bible alone is our only authority for our faith and life. •Salvation is ours only by grace through faith. •Christ alone is the perfect Savior. •All of life is "religious" - we are called to thankfully serve and glorify God in all we do each day. •Christ alone is our Head and our Lord over every aspect of our lives.
The plan of salvation revealed in the Bible - Adam's sin has totally corrupted all mankind, and all parts of man's being, so that man is miserable, and separated from God our Creator. We believe that salvation is by God's gracious action alone, who sovereignly chooses out of the fallen race of mankind those whom He will save. God alone saves the people whom He draws to Jesus by His Holy Spirit. He alone convinces them of their sin and enlightens them so that they repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as He is offered in the Gospel. God then preserves His people in the faith unto eternal life. Because God alone knows who are His, we call on all people everywhere to repent and to trust in Jesus Christ.
Church
Jesus Christ alone is the Head and Cornerstone of the Church,
The Church is His body and bears the name "Christian". The form of church government we believe is most biblical is called Presbyterian. This means the local churches are governed by "presbyters" or elders, who are elected by the voting members of the congregation. This was the kind of government the New Testament Church practiced (see Acts 20:17 ; Titus 1:5-7 ) It has been the form followed by the great Reformed and Presbyterian branches of the Church since John Calvin in Switzerland, the Reformed in Germany and Holland and John Knox in England and Scotland. The elders and pastor of each church are also accountable to the broader church bodies known as Classes and Synods. The Church is composed of true believers scattered all over the world. Christian fellowship is unique and eternal...
Christians are all called upon to join in the fellowship of a true Church. The "marks" by which a true church can be known are: •The true preaching of the Word, •The proper administration of the Holy Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper, •The faithful administration of Christian Discipline
The task of the Church is to: •Build up the body of Christ by the preaching and teaching of God's Word. •Teach the children of believers the way of salvation. •Spread the Gospel message and call the lost to repentance and faith in Christ. •To counsel, comfort, and guide believers by God's Word and Spirit. •To labor in God's Kingdom until He calls the Church to its eternal rest in glory.
Our Invitation To You
We urge you to join us as we worship and serve our God each Lord's Day. A warm welcome awaits you.
We want you to know that we are people just like you -- married, single, families, young and old. We are faced with the same problems, sins, loneliness, failures, sorrows and joys that all people are confronted with in this world. We are also challenged by all the temptations of our society. Sometimes we are obedient and sometimes we disobey. And even our best obedience is imperfect before God. We are sinners constantly in need of the grace and help of God. One difference dominates our lives...by the grace of God, we are forgiven and saved sinners. Our only righteousness before God is Christ's. Our only victory is in Christ. We have only one purpose in extending this invitation to you -- to call you to repentance and faith in Christ, our Savior and Lord. Then you too may have the peace and joy that is ours now and forever. We are Christians today because someone, at some time told us the Good News of the Gospel. For that same purpose we come to you now.
Please think on these things for yourself and contact us if you have any questions. We will be very happy to give you more information. Thank you.
