In July 1973, James and Rebecca Lewis came to Clyde, Ohio to pastor what was then the Clyde Pentecostal Church. Having left the Pentecostal movement in 1977, after much Bible study and prayer, Pastor Lewis retains the excitement and enthusiasm for God's Word that he grew up with. The church was renamed Harvest Temple, and in 2000 it became Harvest Baptist Temple. After 44 years in the pastorate, Pastor James Lewis retired.
Today, under the leadership of Pastor Allen Holmes, Harvest Baptist Temple continues to shine the light of the gospel in the Clyde area through its many outreach programs. Some of these include Harvest Temple Christian Academy, WHVT Christian Radio, RU Recovery, jail and nursing home ministries, Golden Apples Bible Assembly, buses, youth ministries, and much more! Average Sunday morning attendance is around 200, plus many radio and internet listeners. All services are broadcast live on cleanair.fm and live-streamed on our Facebook page.
