The apostle teaches the importance of telling the good news that Jesus Christ the Son of God is able to forgive sins, change lives, and give eternal life to all those who repent of their sins and ask Him to save them.
Some question the wisdom of preaching this same old message in these modern days. Many churches today have bands to play, show the gospel in skits and plays, but we continue because "it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." And who are we to argue with Him?
Christianity is not just a religion, it is a lifestyle, no, it is a life, eternal life! It requires a supernatural work of grace in the heart and soul of a person. Jesus said to one very religious man, Nicodemus, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
That is why we preach the age old gospel of Jesus Christ, ". . . yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" 1 Corinthians 9:16
