Started off with the jihadi attack in London—and I think some folks will not be happy with where I ended up on that one, challenging us to think about our own hearts in light of those events. But then we moved from that into the Pope’s “everyone has been redeemed by the blood of Christ, even atheists, who can do good” homily, and from that into Tyler McNabb’s swimming the Tiber (just in time for the “which Pope are you going to believe” festival over there, it seems). Then for the last 25 minutes we reviewed Rachel Held Evans’ recent blog post responding to John Piper, a wild-eyed straw-man burning party that is truly breathtaking. Some pretty weighty topics, to be sure!
