This is the 5th lecture in a series presented on Friday nights, once a month, at the Irving Arts Center, in order to present the Christian faith to people of non-Christian backgrounds. This lecture helps such people understand two great facts: the absolute righteousness of God, in contrast to the complete spiritual and moral corruption of humankind as God sees them. By understanding these truths, the uninitiated can better grasp the necessity of the cross of Jesus and why his substitutionary sacrifice there is the entire basis for Christians' deliverance from the punishment they deserve for their sins as well as the basis for God's forgiveness of those sins.
