It is by the hearing of faith that we as believers were converted to Christ. It is true that we heard about the importance of faith in Christ when we first had the gospel preached to us. We heard that it was necessary to look outside of ourselves to Christ for salvation from sin in order to be righteous in God’s sight. But in the context here, it means more than this. In the context, “the hearing of faith” becomes the means whereby we receive everything God would give to us; things of truth and grace.
