Just before I taught this lesson I texted my daughter, Reagan, who is studying in university and asked is Heaven a physical place? "I feel like your question is a trick, but, yes, I think Heaven is a physical place." It was not a trick question. I just wanted to be sure she knew about the place she was planning on spending eternity! I am happy to report, she does!
But how many others, college students or retirees, might have said something entirely different. Heaven is a physical place, but in a different dimension. Just because we cannot see it, does not mean it does not exist physically. In the Revelation we are told the present Heaven (Rev 4-6) has people who are clothed, real thrones, a temple, living creatures, crowns and scrolls, and myriads of angels speaking in great voices. It even says, "and every created thing in Heaven..." The heaven in Revelation was physical to John. Paul was transported to what he called the "Third Heaven". It too was a physical place! Ezekiel went to a physical Heaven. Isaiah went to a physical Heaven.
If you trust the Bible, Heaven is a physical place!
