"According as His divine power has given unto us all things pertaining unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that have called us to glory and virtue, whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these we may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:3-4
Godliness…
God Himself is the source. There is no other source of godliness than that which is given by divine power. God is God, and He is the source, He is the source. But what is the goal? What is the goal of this divine power, the goal of this divine power is godliness.
God's power for godliness flows through knowledge. The knowledge of Him who called us. The One who we are to remain, by faith, connected (abide). Which Jesus says we can do nothing without staying connected to Him. All things, whatever those things are, are good for nothing eternally UNLESS it flowed through Jesus first. And there's no other way than this. Godliness cannot be lived apart from the knowledge of Him who called us unto His glory and virtue, it will not come any other way.
