This week we will see how integral the ministry of the Spirit is in leading and inspiring the church in its fruitful proclamation of the gospel to the nations. The book of Acts is the normative paradigm for the church's mission to the world. Central to that paradigm is the action of the Holy Spirit in filling, sending, equipping, leading and inspiring the church in its primary calling of making known the good news of God. In our day where we are prone to relying on our technology and methods to get the gospel out we may need to rediscover the apostolic dependency on the Holy Spirit and seek to be led by His agenda and not our own. More than this we may need to be refreshed in the precious truth that the mind and will of the Spirit is wonderfully revealed as being one with the Father and the Son in their clear agenda to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.
