We as a church community in New York City have been fasting and praying for revival. We have been asking; Lord show us the things that hinder true revival and forgive us and cleanse us from them.
The Holy Spirit is clearly shown us in the last week a major area, maybe the largest area where we as a church need to ask forgiveness and seek a cleansing through the Holy Spirit. Jesus commanded us to love one another. He made it clear that through that love the spiritual reality of his gospel would be demonstrated to the world. We simply cannot say that we love God and then fail to love any of the brethren. The apostle John said that if we say that we love God and hate our brother we are a liar. In that context the word hate means to love less than God has commanded.
Love, unity and forgiveness don't just happen. They are choices that we make. If we will put away all bitterness, suspicion and critical speech in genuine repentance than the Holy Spirit will give us such an outpouring of the love of God into our hearts that the watching world will have to declare; "only God can do this". I believe with all my heart that we will see revival one more time but it will only come through a cleansed vessel. God make us that vessel.
