There is an obvious progression in coming to know the Lord. As the Scripture here makes clear, first, we hear, then we see, then we look upon, and then we touch. Most people hear, but do not listen and that is the end of it. Others hear and listen and then they begin to see. Many of those turn around at that point and return to their selfish lives. Some see and then fix their gaze upon the Lord and begin to see Him as He really is. These go on in this spiritual relationship to know what is to have the touch of the Lord on their lives.
