Application 1. seek mercy Gibeonites understood their need for mercy they were under judgment knew salvation was found in union with God's people Joshua was trustworthy in granting them mercy we are under judgment and our hope is in a greater Joshua
2. keep your oaths fulfill contracts we enter into. If we commit, we should do it. marriage vows should be taken seriously
3. seek God's counsel prior are not the main lessons Israelites made a grave mistake they made league when they should not Joshua fell for their deceit be wary of false teaching be on your guard know truth
