And Paul has been demonstrating that both Jew and Gentile are lost. There is none who understands, none who understands. Fallen man is totally incapable and unable in and of himself to understand and comprehend spiritual truth. That's a very important fact for us not to lose sight of. Sometimes, especially after we have been believers for a while, we forget how wretched our former condition was. And we scratch our head and say, How can they not see it? Well, in one sense it is simple, it is clear. But we have to realize we are dealing with those who have no sight.
