“Needless” means unnecessary, not needed, and not wanted. Fear is needless because when God saved us He moved into our hearts permanently. The power to overcome fear has already been given to us by God. We don't have to fear even when trouble is ganging up on us because God is present. God gives us light to see, He brings deliverance, and He is the strength of our whole life. When we are afraid we can and should lean on Him. Fear wants to enslave us, but God wants us to understand that He Himself has adopted us and will thus take care of us. When fear comes knocking just call out, “DADDY!” and let Him deal with the needless fear. What are you looking at that has caused fear to come? Tell God about it; don't just sit there and say God knows. He wants us to trust Him and show it by calling on Him.
