The Holy Spirit moved into our hearts when we asked Jesus to save us. Satan however wants to engage us in a mental battle with despair (hopelessness, hopeless state, state of no hope of victory) being a primary weapon of his. Each one of us will have to deal with this attack even though we are God's children. Everything will be going good for a while and then satan lowers the boom. We'll be driven to do all that we know to do and then some trying to fix the situation ourselves. When instead we are only going into deeper despair; all hope is gone. What we need do in order to overcome this pounding despair is to draw nearer to God. Believe God and what He is saying. The method God uses for us to overcome the despair may vary each time, but we will, through Him, make it. But we must first look to God.
