Each Tuesday during the month of September my guest will be Trevin Wax. Trevin and I will discuss some of the items that he posts on his blog under the "Worth a Look" section. A few of the items up for discussion this week include:
Michelle Bachmann's Dangerous Flirtation with the Anti-Vaccine Movement:
A writer for the National Review criticizes presidential candidate Michele Bachmann's statements about the HPV Vaccine while commending her for opposing mandatory vaccinations. When I heard some of the comments made about Bachmann's comments a couple of Scripture verses immediately came to mind. Like, Matt 7 that speaks against hypocritical judgments - condemning others while committing the same sin. Also, from Proverbs, the foolishness of judging a matter without having enough information.
A Friendly Remainder as Campaign Season Gets Into Full Swing:
Speaking of politics, Kevin DeYoung reminds his readers about the limitations of the Office of the President. DeYoung's comments remind us of an, often forgottten, but never-the-less essential aspect of the Gospel - we live in a sin-cursed world and this world is not our ultimate destination. Thus the Scriptures speak about the Christian as "strangers" and "sojourners" in this world.
