The old prophet Samuel had mourned for Saul and his failure to follow after the LORD. The time for mourning is to end. The LORD now commands Samuel to go and anoint Israel's next king. Two points come mind as we studied through this chapter.
First, that mourning long can cripple us from ministering to those around us that have need. And second, that the music we listen to has a powerful influence over us for good or evil. Let's turn it so that it is a help to mind the spiritual things of Christ.
